The Science department at Stonelaw consists of fifteen teachers and two technicians. We are committed to making our pupils have a positive experience with us. There will be experiments, investigations, research and the very latest headline news will be discussed in the classroom.

Miss Young
Subject - Physics
Hobbies - Going to gym, spending time with friends & family.
About - BEng in Mechanical Engineering, PGDE from Strathclyde University. Initially left school wanting to be an Engineer but didn’t quite realise what an engineer did. I had such a positive experience as a pupil at school and I came into teaching to try and give other young people the same positive experience I had.

Hobbies - Computing, reading, camping, pool, and playing golf badly.
About - Bsc in Physics and Applied Physics at the university of Strathclyde. Post graduate certificate in education.
I have a particular love for space physics, and our place within this vastly complex universe. Newtonian physics combined with the most cutting edge physics fascinate me.
I have always wondered why? why? why?, so I studied Physics to find out.
Now I know.

About - Bsc in Infection Biology at University of Glasgow, PGDE at University of the West of Scotland. I had planned to become a teacher after completing my degree many years ago but worked in training and developing services for the UK and Scottish Government to support people with their health and wellbeing. I was lucky to train as a teacher a few years ago and joined Stonelaw in 2021.

Hobbies - Dog Training and competitions with my little dog Bella. I love anything Disney and Harry Potter especially the chamber of secrets!!
About - BSc Joint Hons in Biochemistry and Pharmacology and PDGE Biology from the University of Strathclyde. From a young age I always wanted to be a teacher but in High School I discovered my love for science. I decided the best option for me was to combine the two and become a Science Teacher!

About - BSc (Hons) in Applied Biochemistry at University of Paisley, PGDE in Education at Jordanhill. I love running & completed my first ever (& last!) half marathon a few years ago.
Before teaching I was a Water Treatment Engineer, I used to travel all over Scotland to test & prevent Legionnaires Disease!!! Chemistry has always fascinated me as it is all around us & let's be honest, the other two "Sciences" couldn't work without it!!! 🙂

About - BSc Hons Chemistry from UWS and PDGE from the University of Strathclyde. I loved science in school and studied all 3! I’d always wanted to teach and after a few years out of education I finally decided it was time to go back to uni for my PGDE! I’ve been fascinated by science from the minute I first sat down in a science class, I had fantastic teachers and I love learning how things work!. I’m particularly interested in forensics, biochemistry and drug design!
